Cannabis Tincture (Alcohol)
Cannabis Tincture made from alcohol is a more traditional recipe for tincture. It’s very
simple to do and requires very little work.
What you need:
The highest proof drinking alcohol you can find. I recommend any alcohol with 151 in the
name. I experiment with different 151 rum brands for different flavors. The fun part is
reading the alcohol descriptions and deciding what pairs well with the cannabis strain I’m
using. Some people use Everclear but where I live in California it’s illegal. It’s also hard to
find Bacardi 151 near me. The brand I use most is Don Q 151 rum. I get it from Total Wine
and more. Whatever you can find works best. You can even go into your favorite alcohol
store and ask an employee for a recommended 151 or high proof alcohol.
1⁄4 (7 grams) - 1 ounce (28 grams) of Decarboxylated Cannabis. I personally use an Ounce of high-quality cannabis, but I like my tinctures to be very strong.
A strainer
A container to store your tincture. I recommend an Airtight mason jar or mini tincture
medicine dropper bottles you can get off amazon.
Directions:
Step 1: Pour out a little liquor for the homies. Actually, you need to pour out some of the
alcohol to make room for the cannabis in the bottle. I don’t measure the amount I
remove. About half a shot worth.
Step 2: Carefully insert your desired amount of decarboxylated cannabis into the alcohol
bottle. Break up the nugs if you need to.
Step 3: Shake the bottle well and place in a dark place for minimum 1 week. You will need
to shake the bottle twice a day every day for the duration of your infusion process. The
longer you let the bottle sit, the more potent it will become.
Step 4: Strain the alcohol and place it in your desired container for storage. Keep the tincture in a dark place away from the sun for ideal potency.
