Walkthrough 24: Horsing Around

This is an important side quest because it will unlock Ponita (horse) riding and animal riding in general. Ponitas are like mini horses that come in different colors and patterns. Riding animals is handy for traversing wild areas where skateboards and vehicles cannot go. Eventually you can unlock your own stable and various animals to call upon and ride.

You start this mission at the Amethyst town stables. Go inside and talk to the owner who looks like a cowboy. He will offer you work around the stable and to meet him outside. Once you get outside, he tells you one of his beasts has gone missing and he needs help to find her in Amethyst Woods.

Head out to Amethyst Woods through the secret park passage in the NW corner of Amethyst Town. In Amethyst Woods head south to the main road and then follow it south and then west and then northwest. The ponita should be somewhere in that area.

After you find the ponita you only need to ride it over to the stable in Amethyst Woods. It's in the East center of the map just below the entrance to Amethyst town on the main road. When you return the ponita, Ponita Paul will give you an animal riding license.

You can now rent ponitas in town and ride them on the main map. This will help with anymore quests you get in Amethyst woods and beyond.
