Walkthrough 39: Rock and Roll

You start this mission in Carson at the south end of the city near the bus. Our friend the Bus Commissioner from a few missions back has a new problem he needs you to solve.

The tunnel that goes between Carson and the beach cities is blocked by rocks. Someone needs to go into the tunnel and clear the rocks. Unfortunately, you need a special Golden Pickaxe to break the rocks.

The Golden Pickaxe is sold in the area north of Carson called Hell Marsh. You head north from Carson city along the path you will reach Hell Marsh. Hell Marsh is an area at the base of the countries largest active volcano. So there are rivers and lakes of lava on the map. Hench the name Hell Marsh.

Towards the center of the map, north of where you enter from Carson is the legendary Blacksmith's shop. To reach it walk north to the nearest path and follow it east along the edge of the lava and then north. You will find a small pathway between the lava and then a travel sign. If you see these items you have gone the right way.

The Blacksmith's shop is a giant boat sitting above a lake of lava. Inside you can purchase the Golden Pickaxe. I also recommend getting the mirror glasses while you are here. They are used for unlocking the Medusa summon.

Back to the mission once you have the pickaxe head back to Carson. The tunnel is just west of the bus and the commissioner. Head inside and keep heading west until you reach a group of HB Surfers who are responsible for the rocks blocking the tunnel.

Fight the Surfers and then click the rocks to clear them. The last giant rock will have a snake underneath it which leads to a small fight as well. Once you beat the surfers, cleared the rocks and beat the snake, head back to the commissioner and your mission is done.

You can now use the bus stops to fast travel to Carson from the beach cities and vice versa.
