Donnie Barrow had spent the first few years of High school getting picked on. He was kind of a dick though.
Donnie teased a foreign exchange student everyday our freshmen year.
On the last day of school, the teacher left to use the restroom. The foreign exchange student got up out of his desk and kicked Donnie’s ass.
Donnie was laying on the floor and the foreign exchange student flipped Donnie’s desk on top of him.
When the teacher returned, she saw Donnie laying on the floor with a desk on top of him and told Donnie to stop messing around trying to be a comedian.
The story around school was at a party one-time Freshmen year someone jerked off in a cup of beer and gave it to Donnie. Donnie didn’t know and he drank it. From then on everyone called him Donnie Jizzo.
Donnie went away that summer and started lifting weights and taking creatine. He had started off a little short and chubby in high school. He came back after summer and had muscles instead. He was also pretty full of himself and wore sleeveless muscle shirts.
One time Donnie invited Jason and I over to his house to smoke. He lives with his mom who spoils him and keeps the fridge stocked. She even gave Donnie the master bedroom in their house.
Around lunch time, Jason and I asked Donnie if he wanted to go to a Carl’s Jr down the street to grab food with us. At the time Donnie was considering a job as a chef. Donnie tells us:
“You guys don’t need to go to Carl’s Jr; I have stuff to make burgers here! I will make you guys burgers.”
Donnie made us burgers; he gave us each a nice little plate with some potato chips on it and a can of soda. Once we both finished eating, Donnie looks at us both dead serious and says:
“Ok guys, that will be $5 each.”
We were both so shocked we paid him just to get out of there quicker.
After that Donnie was never really invited over anymore but he just seemed to show up anyways. Anytime there was a party somewhere he had a habit of finding out.
Donnie was destined to be a shady used car salesman. He was always working on the next "get rich quick" scheme.
Donnie smoked weed but he was not passionate about it like the rest of us. He did not smoke regularly at home. He purchased a bong that was $200 just to look cool. When we went to parties, he would bring it to show off but he never used it. I would end up being the one using it and taking care of it the whole night. Most people thought the bong belonged to me.
Donnie was somehow able to convince a shady doctor to give him a medical marijuana prescription. He did not need it for medical reasons. He used it as an opportunity to make money.
At the time I started getting very picky with the weed I was buying. I always wanted something better and better. My tolerance was getting higher, and I needed stronger weed to continue feeling it. I was working and had enough money to buy the good stuff, so I wanted the good stuff.
The only way to get the higher quality weed on a regular basis was to buy it from dispensaries. In order to go into dispensaries, you needed a medical marijuana prescription. Donnie was willing to go inside the dispensary and buy products for people, but it came with extra hidden fees.
The closest dispensaries were about 30 minutes away. Donnie did not have a car or a license, so you had to find him a ride. He wouldn't pay for the ride himself either. Usually, you could give John or Peter gas money and free weed for driving.
Donnie would straight tell you he wanted money to go to the dispensary. Sometimes it was $20, sometimes it was $50. It depended on his own financial situation at the time. Then on top of that, Donnie would tell you the price was higher than it actually was in the store.
He was also known for "Pinching the sack". Pinching the sack meant he took a little off the top or pocketed a small percentage of the weed you bought for his own personal supply without saying anything. By the time you paid everyone off and Donnie took his fees you ended up with half the amount you paid for.
I only asked Donnie to get weed for me a few times before we discovered a price tag he forgot to remove and a receipt he forgot to toss. After that I only gave Donnie money for dispensary trips when someone else was paying him to go.
I would love to have gotten my own medical marijuana prescription at the time, but Donnie refused to tell anyone where or how he got it.
