Walkthrough 29: How to Unlock Sprout

Once Amethyst Woods is opened up and you have a hatchet, you will be able to unlock the summon Sprout, assuming you did not choose Sprout to begin with. If you selected Sprout, you will be able to unlock Torch instead.

Head to Amethyst Woods. There is a cave blocked by trees just west of the stables. Equip your hatchet to cut down the trees. Don't forget to change your weapon back to your normal weapon.

Enter the cave and take the right path. Keep heading North and East when possible. Once you find a path that is blocked by rocks head West and you will find a chest, egg and book.

The chest contains a bong. The Egg is for your summon and the book shows you how to awaken the summon from the egg.

If you are unlocking Sprout you will head to Amethyst woods next to the scary tree where you found the grow op soil.

If you are unlocking Torch you will head to Amethyst Town Blacksmith and throw the egg in his hearth.

Either choice will end up with a battle against the summon you are unlocking. It is a solo battle with Jacob; Lucky is removed from the party for this battle. If you are fighting Sprout I recommend using Torch as your summon. If you are fighting Torch I recommend using Squirt as your summon.

If you don't have Squirt yet I recommend skipping this video and watching Walkthrough 30. Then coming back to this video. Or gathering the egg and then waiting to fight each summon with the appropriate counter summon.

These battles are difficult if you do not use the right summon. For those who do not understand elemental weakness and need a hint.
